Are bose headphones healthier for your ears than in ear headphones?

I am looking for good headphones that do not do a lot of damage like the ipod ones. I want something that will save my ears in the long run. What is an affordable over ear headphone for this that is also good quality?
bose headphones are the absolute best in my opinion they do not damage your ears as much and has great sound quality
